Saturday 26 Sunday 27 June
Aerotowing at Petes airstrip Denman
Trikes, ropes and dollies will be there. Bring hang gliders.
Sleep in the hangar or bring a tent.
Bring BBQ food. The town will be inundated by 800 or so pony club types.
Bring a donation for strip fees accom and BBQ gas for Pete and family.

We will continue to look at the weather, usualy a little better up the valley compared to coastal forecasts.

Denman was great, Saturday was within a couple of deg of freezing cold at base. Base went to 9000.
I got a tow from Pete, just 500 m off the end of the strip and pined off for a ride out. Everyone was headed to Merriwa for a short XC to be sure to get home again. I went in the other direction alone, with no retrieve, I had to come back too. It was spectacular tip, I flew over Nullo Mt beside Rhylstone. I made a climb to base and made a final glide 50km back home without a turn.

Stingfest is still on but has been postponed again due to weather. Now it will be the 16th and 17th of May 09. What is Stingfest? See here . . . The waypoints are here . . .

Dawson has it pretty much covered but words can’t really convey how good it felt to be circling up in smooth, organised, reliable lift, over a breathtakingly rugged and remote landscape, with mates on the radio enjoying the same thing, sharing the view and just bloody flying around drawing 20km wide star shapes on the GPS screen. The atmosphere was incredibly clear for such an unstable day. The Widden Valley and Wollemi area just looked surreal. Over dinner at the pub we agreed it was the best day’s flying in a very long time.

I changed my mind about all that on Sunday arvo.

The weather is looking OK for both days.
The strips are mown, the flags are new and the Evils have been fed. Lets go!
Pete says there's been some awesome weather at his place lately, so its time for another visit.
