I have been sick, feeling drained and the silver lining is that I have had the time to catch up with little things like organising my photo albums. It is enthusing and I hope that summer will hurry along. Dawson has done well at getting Coppermine up and running again, well deserving of the title Awesome Dawson.

New airspace / VHF airband carriage / do I need to buy yet another radio?

There's been quite a bit of chat/discussion/discourse about the changes to airspace, and the requirements to carry and use VHF airband radio, that were introduced on June 3.
As I see it, its as Billo put in another post, for us in a nutshell, if you're planning on being inside 10NM (19km) of Maitland and/or Dochra (Singleton), you'll need an appropriate radio with all the permissions and trimmings. So treat it the same as what was an MBZ.
