Leaving Switzerland

Well, I'm back in Sunny, hot France now. As I drive around the rural area of Brittany where Flo comes from, I can't help but think that this would be a great area for flying in. Mostly flat lands, pleanty of large open paddocks for landing in, just pick one that doesn't currently have a crop in it, and hot to buggery. The only flying site that I know of though is at Le Menez Hom, a couple of hundred km north, a smallish mountain, or largish hill from what I've heard. There's a paragliding school there apparently. Someone needs to set up a tow park somewhere around here.

Swiss Championships Day 4 Task 3

The call was for moderate Northerly winds so we headded off to a launch that takes a strong north wind in the Jura.

A wide open launch, not as high as the day before, this launch sits above a high plateau which drops off to the town below and the bombout paddock.

Day 3 Task 2

The Alps have an amazing effect on the weather patterns. Here, at the foot of the Jura the wind was blowing like stink, but just 50 kilometers away to south east ( I think we went south east, not really sure ) at the Pre-Alps, where you can see the towering forms of the alps with sheer rock walls many thousands of feet tall looming down on all who dare to look up.

Swiss Championships Day 1 Task 1

I sent a text last night which, as it turns out had a little bit of mis-information. Thomas did win the day on his C4, but he was not flying in the Open class, but the "Lite" class similar to a Floater class, but you can fly any glider in it. Second in Lite class was an Atos. The Open class was won by Primoz.

I also said that I didn't have internet access, but apparently I do!
