Welcome to the Newcastle Hang Gliding Club (NHGC) Sites main page. The NHGC administers and maintains sites for Hang/Paragliding throughout Newcastle City, Glenrock Recreation Area and The hunter valley.

Different areas are subject to differing agreements depending on the government agency that authorised the site. To provide for some consistency, the sites that operate under the same agreement have been grouped together on the same page. Information relating to the maintenance and operations from those sites (Maintenance Management Plans, Emergency Management Plans, Land-holder Agreements and (in the near future) Video Briefings are available on the following relevant pages: Access to those pages is via the links at the bottom of this page.

Glenrock - Bombala Street and Merewether (Hickson street)
Newcastle - Strezleci and Dickson Park.
Watagans - Heaton Forest Sites.
Hunter valley - Glennies Creek.

Documents of an operational nature (Site management Plans, Emergency Management Plans) are available as PDF documents visible to everyone. Documents specifically for the use of the NHGC are only available to members.

There is nothing like local knowledge, if you are visiting our sites please make yourself known to one of our members. They will be only too happy to give you the low down on the site given the conditions of the day.
