The NHGC has a permit with the Forestry Corporation of NSW (FCNSW) to administer, maintain and operate from specific sites from within the confines of the Heaton State forest. Heaton forest is located to the immediate west of Lake Macquarie in the Watagan mountain range. Five launch sites and two landing areas are covered by the agreement:

Members whom are logged in can access the documents that relate to this agreement. ALL members who operate or intend to operate from the sites within the Heaton Forest are to make themselves familiar with the documents contained on this page. In particular members are to read at a minimum; the management plan for the intended site, the Emergency Management plan and the FCNSW terms and conditions.
