This week marks one year since we lost our good friend Rod. It is the anniversary of the passing of a good friend and all round great human being.
Rod was passionate about life and lived it to the fullest. He gave up a trade to replace it with a passion for wood working and his business is now operated by his remaining family and Jason his ex-apprentice now turned master crafts man.
If you are ever in the Peats Ridge area stop in to the Rod Murray Gallery and say hi to Odette. The location and detail can be found on the web site.
Any interest in a weekend in Grafton on September 7th and 8th? This is the anniversary of the Dickenson 1st flights.
Weather was always going to be an issue on the long weekend but it certainly didn't stop those silly enough to venture west from having fun. Denman has so much going for it these days that boredom is not an option.
Saturday looked pretty average so Jan & I took a slow trip up, arriving about beer o clock at Pete and Chris's. Alisdair was already there with his nano trike waiting for the conditions to improve, or the pub to open. JOD & Sue also turned up sans wings, as did Hansens, Dustan, Stuart and Conner. By reservation time we had a table for 15 and hints of a better day ahead.
Many of you would know Skeeter from Manilla, one of the excellent local drivers. I am saddened to report that Skeet's young daughter was killed in a car accident a few days ago.
The funeral will be held on Thursday 30th at 11:00 in the Anglican church, Manilla, on the off chance that any of you can attend.
Also, I going to suggest that the club sends a wreath.
There's a long weekend coming up for June 8/9/10.
It's going to be Winter, frickin' cold, most likely no lift and maybe even no flying.
Sounds like Denman time to me.
Pete and Christine say "Hell yeah"
So, I'm in if you're in.
Check here for a weather call if it looks iffy beforehand.
Small note... no dogs please. The locals do NOT appreciate it.
Autumn(yes I did call it winter, but it's so damn cold when your on the push bike :-)) fly at Merewether with JOD, Frans, Donsta, Karl, Harry and some very hi-tech RCA's
A small crew went out and had fun.
Here is a little bit of footage from the day
A nice day at Glennies
Went some weeks back with Awesome Dawson and Virpi. It was awesome. Light thermals to 3k, Eagles, multiple top landings up the face in the REV. took some nice pics. Looking forward to it drying up out there for some more of the same.
NSW State Title hang gliding competition for 2014 will be 15 Feb- 22 Feb 2014 at Manilla NSW Australia.
