Newcastle South Leagues Club, Merewether.
Calls were made and weather was organised. Aero towing at Denman was all systems go. On the way from Newcastle, we drove through rain, under low cloud, as we entered the Denman valley the sky was clearing and lovely cues were showing themselves over the hills.
Pete Marheine had the tug ready, JillibyMick and Rod drove up from the central coast. Rob Larkin and myself arived followed shortly after by Alan Daniels.
As we set up the sky was just beckoning to get up there.
I was the first to launch, Pete towed me towards a nice drop off point near a white fluffy over the hills at about 3500ft. Robert was the next to launch, followed by Rod for his first tow then Alby. Mick worked as ground crew for the day.
Big THANKS to Pete for the towing and Chris for the hospitality.
A good day was emjoyed by all.
Here is a video clip to enjoy the events of the day:

Jealous in the NT
Denman sounded great! Congrats rod. I'm sitting in a bunker at 11pm at the base in Katherine, NT. The flying up here has been good, but I'm getting anxious to do some "Real" flying of the open air variety. That new wing looks sweet Alby!
Lucky or what?
Rod did indeed do good…and that was the theme for the whole weekend really.

Sunday dawned looking average, but it wasn’t long after a late, lazy, breakfast that sky called “come on up”. If it wasn’t for the cool temps you would have sworn it was late Spring or Summer. Clouds started to form, then streets got organised and the breeze just stayed light and straight down the strip. To get this in mid Winter is incredible. (Mind you, we were at Yarrawa and we’ve come to expect special treatment out here… thanks again to Pete & Christine.)
I’d already had an hour up in the trike with Pete before breakfast and was still thawing out, so Rod started the ball rolling with another textbook tow – backing up yesterday’s efforts and keeping a perfect scorecard. Mick stayed busy doing the launch marshalling for the morning, making sure the dolly was back and the rope was ready. Many thanks Mick.
Having “broken wind” with my new Rev on Saturday, Sunday was a chance to fiddle with cameras and just take it easy. The Evils were out again, to remind us they own the air here, but after “blooding” Rod yesterday were content just to fine tune their screaming and posturing routines. I had a couple of tows, Rod had a few more, and we called stumps just after 1pm. There was still plenty of lift but I think we’d all had our fill.
To add insult to injury the drive home was awesome as well. Full moon, sun setting through towering cu’s and no rain until I hit the coast.
Yahoo Yarrawa and yahoo the Marhienes….again!

Love the dangle cam Alby!

Alby,
Now if you can build a really little, really stable wing to carry a camera and tether it above and behind you then you will have "evilcam". Wouldn't it be great to see what evil1 and evil2 see just before they strike.
Use Your Wings Before The Fat Lady Sings
Congratulations Rod
