Fees for 2010-2011

The next meeting is the AGM and, apart from celebrating a year in which we have achieved a great deal, it is time to help us achieve even more in the next by paying your fees . . .

The fees are only $15 and are based on the financial year. There is a couple of months grace on either side of 1/7/2010 so if you have paid recently you're good. I have updated the list of financial members on the website which reminds me that I should pay my fees. I think I'll use PayPal.

What Your Fees Pay For

NHGC has one of the lowest, if not the lowest, membership fee in Australia. It's only $15 and we aim to keep it that way but still you may wonder where it gets used for.

NHGC has few fixed costs, one being the rental of our PO box, another being the hosting of this website. There is also the cost of trophies for the club awards. We are lucky in that we get free use of a room at Souths for our meetings. What reserves we have are primarily for maintaining our sites and keeping up relationships with land owners. We also see it as our role to nurture the development of our pilots so we like to be able to sponsor various events such as StingFest, inter-club competitions, SO training and the like.

Anyone who flies in the Newcastle region benefits from NHGC membership fees so keep that in mind next time you enjoy a casual lap of the coast between Merewether and Ft Scratchly or you take-off at one of our inland sites and are able to land nearby or you get benefited from reading a post on this website.

Direct deposit or PayPal, it's as easy as EFT.

Fees, prefered method of payment

It would be really nice if your $15.00 annual membership could be paid by either PAYPAL or direct deposit. Cash payments should only be made as an absolute last resort such as if the global economic system suddenly shut down, we no longer had the use of electricity or some rule stopped us. At the AGM we will have an active computer link that you can use to make PAYPAL payments or direct deposit payments.

If you are unsure about how to pay by either of these methods I will be very happy to help you. PayPal and Direct Deposit payments are much more secure than cash payments - it is also more secure for accounting and audit purposes.
