At the last meeting Rick Duncan discussed the concept of bringing back the old club competition format where the weekend after each meeting is a considered as a competition round.

This format has the advantage of being able to lock in the dates with the family. The idea is to meet at Freeos at a set time the Saturday morning after the meeting and decide on the location based on the weather. There will also be scope to go further afield like Denman, for towing, Glennies and Nellies.

Rick has volunteered to drive this with the goal of improving pilot skills. It is well know that the best way to improve your flying skills is in a competition environment. Even if you bomb-out there's lot's to learn by watching and talking to others.

Rick will be added in the scoring by Billo. You will be able to submit GPS track logs online. Billo will demonstrate at the next meeting and more details of the competition format will be revealed by Rick.

Rick plans to have the first round at the end of July. This will tie in nicely with the club's move towards having club awards at the AGM.
