Dear Dawson
Brown,
Do you use Empire Park?
Two community workshops are being conducted by Newcastle Voice to
discuss forthcoming works at Empire Park, and provide feedback from the
sessions held in September 2009.
The community will have the opportunity to hear a status
report on the whole of the park (Master Plan Empire Park) and be
informed about what is happening in the immediate future at Empire
Park. The workshop will be an opportunity to view the early draft
design plans and examples of skateparks, learn about the construction
timeframe and offer suggestions. The workshop will also inform
residents about the construction of a second batball court, as a
component of the new skate facility project.
Time: 10-12 noon
Date: Wednesday
31 March
Venue: Cooks
Hill Surf Club, Memorial Drive, Bar Beach

As I drove past Empire Park on Saturday, I noticed that it looks like some kind of works have been started, or are being prepared for down by the tennis court.
Wednesday 31/Mar, when they're holding these workshops is the date of our next club meeting.
