worlds day 1 and 2

The first competition day is a strong North Mistral wind. It is very clear that we do not need to go up the hill.
We had a day of reading and walked up a local hill. I found the clearest Quartz that I have ever seen and a large piece of fossilized coral.

The second day, the wind is too strong to fly and forecast to be increasing through the day. We go up the hill, setup and watch the wind increase as forecast. The sailplanes buzz the ridge today, there is only dynamic lift, the air is dead everywhere around the competition area. I find a stick, it is only 20mm long, but it is millions of years old. I have found a nice fossilized sea creature in limestone 2 days ago. We have another big dinner party with the American team tonight. The vido is a sailplane beatup as those of us with lower wingloadings are safer on the ground.

Jonny is staying elsewhere and neither Curt or Jonny will be on a radio channel with anyone else, fracturing the team.

4 big days are forecast starting tomorrow. It is time to start wearing out the opposition. Our girls are helping them to consume a lot of alcohol.
