Business Arising from last meeting Minutes;
Watagans – All approved 3 weeks ago. Karl got cheaper quote by Arborist by $5k! Money will be equally reimbursed to all contributors (ie clubs and HPA). Weekends 4th&5th and 11th or 12th July will be working bee weekends at Heaton. Jobs include moving mulch around, laying some astro turf and putting sand on top. Digging a path ramp for new NE Heaton launch, brush cutting, signage, moving around logs etc. Anybody willing to help contact either Karl Kindle (0412675293) or Royce (0402488466). A truck taking sand to launch on Sunday morning 5th of July will be picking up astro turf from Jamie’s place, 28 Hexham st Kahibah. Anybody available to help lift these large pieces on the back of the truck would be greatly appreciated – contact Karl. Karl will contact NPG club to see if any of their members would like to help with working bee.
When launches are ready Tony will determine appropriate ratings. Until then all sites at Heaton will be classed PG5 and HG Advanced ratings.
Adriaan and Karl plan to talk to land owners at the bottom of the new launches for a closer alternative emergency bombout than Carmels. Brad Patfield mentioned he has a friend with a truck and also friends that run an AirB&B below the new launches.
There is optimism that the new launches will attract enough flying activity that there might be potential for a new HG/PG competition and club camping weekends. The new launches have already been attracting non-flying campers. There is going to need to be some consideration on how to persuade these campers to not destroy our launch with campfires and rubbish.
SE Heaton Weather station – Telstra have waived most of the fees. Club still needs to pay for a weather station and a Rigger to fit it onto the tower.
SE Heaton rd from the east is in good condition and recently graded. 2wd in dry conditions ok. Please only 4wd if rd is wet.
Big thanks to financial contributors NSWHPA, NPGclub, Central Coast Club and Karl & Royce for their efforts.
