Contacting Other Users

Apart from commenting on content that others have created you can also send messages and email.

Contact Webmaster or Committee Person

Figure 1

Contact Button: There is a "Contact" button under your name on the left. You can use this to send an email to the webmaster or club committee members but not individual users. See figure 1.

Contacting other Users

Receiving Messages: Messages are similar to the private messages you were able to send each other in the old system. The "Messages" button under your name on the left takes you to your InBox. If you have unread messages then there will be a number in brackets.

Figure 2

Sending a Message: If you click on a user's name you will be taken to their profile page. Here there should be a link that says "Send this user a message". See figure 2. If you click this you can fill in a form that will generate a PM(private message) in the user's inbox which they can access as mentioned above.

Figure 3

Email: A user will not get a PM until they next login to the website so if you want to contact them before that you can send an email. To send email click on the user's name where it appears in blue and look for the "Contact" button which should appear somewhere below the title of the page, which will be the users name, towards the centre of the page. See figure 2.

NOTE: This "Contact" button does not do the same thing as the "Contact" button that appears under your user name in the sidebar when you are logged in. That one is for contacting the webmaster.

You should then get a form to fill out. When you submit the form the system will generate a email to the user from you. See figure 3. It will use your respective email addresses that you used when you registered.

Before you can send a user a message you have to find them, here's how . . .
