Early news from Canungra via Rick last night.
Task 1 was appox 80km with only 4 or 5 in goal.

Had a great afternoon flying yesterday. When I got to DP Rick Duncan was there testing a few C4s. Seabreeze was saying south but it was pretty square on.
2 passes after launch and I was on my way to Strezi. Rounded the car park at fence height and then there was abundant lift. The lift was not as good as I would have expected from the white caps on the ocean but I think the wind was slowly moving to the east. There was nice bubbles coming through though and in the C4 and pulling the rope on I lost very little height on my laps between Strezi and Merewether.
Manilla Long Weekend 08
I suppose I should give an update on the long weekend in Manilla.
For those of you that are secretly hoping that the flying was crap so that you won't have to read through another post about other pilots getting air while you were mowing the lawn or painting the house your prayers have been answered.
The weather was less than epic.
Ebbs and I headed up on the back road from Jerry's Plains under a sky with high cyrus and I was expecting a typical inverted day. And it was, in fact you can see it in each of Billo's photos.
Seabreeze forecast the wind to swing to the SSE and drop off but after an hour of watching the live data show that the wind was picking up I finished my work for the day and "shut up shop". A quick call to JOD and he tells me he is also leaving the establishment and headed for Dicko.
I spent Saturday morning in a trike, flying out of Rutherford to Hexham for touch and goes and then back to Rutherford into a wind that reduced our groundspeed to negative at times, fantastic fun! It was thermic from 10:00, if you could have got off the ground safely, it would've been a great day for hang gliding.

Airborne has released a flyer outlining their fly-in's for the rest of the year. There are some nearby so check it out.
